Are you ready to send your transcript to a college, technical school or military branch?
Complete the College Transcript Request Form and return to the BG counseling office.
All components must be accounted for on the form BEFORE any transcripts will be sent. A fee of $25 will be billed to all seniors through the business office.

- Transcripts for graduated students: Graduated students must complete a transcript request form available in the main office at BG. A $5.00 fee is required for each transcript. The request for graduated transcripts is fulfilled by the main office staff. Please mail or bring your completed form to Nancy McConnell in the main office. Request form can be found here.
- Transcripts needed over the summer: As the counseling office is closed during the summer, any current or past student needing a transcript during June-August should make his/her request through the main office. Same procedures apply as above.

ASVAB: Visit our Armed Service and ASVAB page for information about ASVAB career exploration.
My College QuickStart: This service by collegeboard is free of charge for any student who took the PSAT. For career exploration, it allows students to see how their personality can fit with a variety of careers. This site also allows you to see which AP classes would be a good fit for you to take in high school. Scholarship Information is located in our office. Please check the bins often, as new scholarships are frequently added! Also, please use fastweb.com and scholarships.com to find online scholarships. Another good place to look for scholarships is on your home school district's webpage, many local scholarships that are not sent to Bishop Guilfoyle may be available on their counseling webpages. FAFSA: Free Application for Federal Student Aid should be filled out after October 1 of the students senior year of high school. The application is used to determine the dollar amount you or your family will be expected to contribute towards college. All federal grant and loan awards are determined by the FAFSA, and nearly all colleges use the FAFSA as the basis for their own financial aid awards. All application must be received by May 1st, but earlier application is advised. Students, you must submit a FAFSA every year you attend college in order to received federal aid. College Rankings: Students should use caution when relying on college rankings, as they are often subjective in nature. A better way to find out about a college or university is to look at their accreditation level for the program you are applying to attend, national exam pass rate, and job placement of graduates. A college has to be the right fit for you in regards to location, cost, student body, majors offered, campus activities, challenging curriculum, etc. Admissions offices can help answer your questions about each program. With that being said, the following sites offer college rankings

College Applications: Most colleges, universities, and technical schools have an online application process. To learn more about the application process and to begin to complete an application, visit the school's admissions page. Some schools will offer you the chance to complete an application when you visit the school, be sure when you make a campus visit you take all the paperwork needed to successfully complete an application. You can request a copy of your unofficial high school transcript to take along. Please complete a transcript request form at least one week prior to your campus visit.
The Common Application: The Common Application is a college application that students can use to apply to any of the over 500 different universities represented. The Common Application makes it easy for students to complete one application that can be sent to a variety of schools. This application is lengthy and requires numerous steps to complete. Please be sure to start this application at least two months prior to the school's admissions deadline.
