AUGUST:
- WELCOME TO BG
SEPTEMBER:
- Join a club or sport. Visit the BG website for a complete list. Sign up with the moderator or in the athletic office.
- Consider Dual Enrollment. DE is a way to earn college credits while in high school. If you decided to DE, you will attend class at BG like normal and register with one of our college partners. Fees apply for DE. Your teacher will provide more information in class.
- Consider our College Degree in High School Program. This joint program with Mount Aloysius allows you to earn an associate degree while in high school. Speak to your counselor for more information.
OCTOBER:
- Create a Raise.me account.
- Create a Collegeboard.org account.
- Take the PSAT during the school day at BG
- Quarter 1 reports cards are distributed to students during the school day.
NOVEMBER:
- Starting in 9th grade, the final grades you earn each year are included in your high school cumulative GPA which is part of your transcript.
- Club and sport participation are included on your transcript too.
DECEMBER:
- Review your PSAT results online.
- Mid-Term exams are approaching. Don’t wait to study.
- Find out more about GACTC with tours and presentations
- AP® exam fee scholarship applications will be distributed. Are you enrolled in an AP course? Taking the exam in May is mandatory. Consider applying for an AP exam fee scholarship.
JANUARY:
- Quarter 2 reports cards are distributed to students during the school day. Mid-term exam grades are included on this report card.
- Scheduling for next year begins. Your school counselor will review your course options with you.
FEBRUARY:
- Update your raise.me account
- Read - strengthen your vocabulary and reading comprehension
MARCH:
- Leadership Youth Blair County. Consider applying for this year-long sophomore year program. Applications will be available in the counseling office.
- Quarter 3 report cards are distributed to students during the school day.
APRIL:
- Final exams are approaching. Study and prepare.
- EDSeries testing is this month.
MAY:
- Take your final exams
- Take your AP® exams
- Receive a tentative copy of your next year schedule.
JUNE:
- Information about your sophomore year AP® courses will be mailed home this summer
- Check the BG website for AP® books and summer assignments
- Purchase AP® textbooks/supplies and work on your AP® summer assignments.
- Check the BG website for summer reading assignments
- Create a plan for completing your summer assignments
- Study for SAT/ACT. Visit SATPractice.org
JULY:
- RELAX – It’s summertime!
- Study for SAT/ACT
