ACT, SAT, PSAT, TOEFL
ACT® Information: actstudent.org
The ACT® is a standardized test that measures a student’s skills in five core areas: English, math, reading, science, and writing.
Although the writing section is optional, all students are advised to take this portion of the test.
All students are advised to take the ACT® at least once prior to graduation, even students who do not plan to pursue college at this time. Students can take the ACT in grades 9-12, but most students will take it for the first time during December or February of their junior year. It is highly recommended that all college bound students take the ACT during the winter of their junior year, again in the spring of junior year, and a third time in fall of their senior year. Most colleges want to see that their applicants have taken the ACT more than once. Likewise, most schools will take the best combined score from all test dates to create a "Super Score". Seniors who would like to improve their score should register for the September or October ACT. Seniors can also take the ACT throughout the year to try to better their scores for better chances at receiving academic scholarships through colleges and universities.
Cost with writing: $62.50
Late registration: add $29.50
Fee waivers are available in the counseling office for students who meet set criteria found here.
