Greater Altoona Career and Technical Center
Each December, freshmen students attend an assembly to learn more about the opportunities at the GACTC. Interested students are then invited to the GACTC for a tour and to explore interested programs. Students apply to the GACTC during the winter of their freshmen year with classes starting in the fall of the following (sophomore) year. GACTC students attend a half day at Bishop Guilfoyle and transported to the GACTC for the afternoon. Students are responsible for their transportation home from the GACTC at the end of the school day. Learn more about the GACTC below.

- 4 Units of Credit each in Religion, English, Math
- 3 Units of Credit each in Social Studies and Science
- 2 Units of Credit in Arts/Humanities
- 1.5 Credit in Health and Physical Education
- 8 Credits in Career Focus/Elective Courses
- Christian Service (25 hours per year)
- Attend yearly retreat
Current CTC Student Information:
- Attendance at the CTC is vital to completion of the program and to earning certification.
- You are expected to attend the CTC even if BG is scheduled for a half day or does not have school
- The exception to this would be a snow day, you would not be expected to report to the CTC if we have a snow day.
- If you want or need to stay at BG for testing or another afternoon activity, it is your responsibility to discuss the absence with your CTC teacher or counselor.
- All CTC students will have lunch two. You may proceed to the lunch line without waiting for your table to be called.
- You are dismissed from BG at 12:00 noon. Please board the bus outside the main office for the CTC
- Upperclassmen are permitted to drive to the CTC with a parental note given to the main office at BG. Students parking at the CTC must obtain a parking pass at the CTC to park.
- Transportation home from the CTC is the responsibility of the student

- Lunch 1: 10:58 - 11:28 a.m.
- CTC Study Hall (rm 201): 11:28 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Day 2 (Thursday):
- Period 4: 7:53 - 9:25 a.m.
- Period 2: 9:28 - 10:55 a.m.
- Period 3: 10:58- 11:38 a.m.
- Lunch: 11:40 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
