MAYOR'S YOUTH COUNCIL
Altoona Mayor Matt Pacifico established a Mayor's Youth Council (MYC) to engage more young people in the community.
The purpose of the MYC is to provide area high school students the opportunity to share their ideas and concerns about issues young people face today. From advising the Mayor on key priorities to acting as a liaison between the schools and City Hall, the MYC works together to give a voice to young people across our community. Similar initiatives are currently ongoing in cities around the country, as well as national youth conference held yearly by the National League of Cities in Washington, D.C.
Bishop Guilfoyle juniors and seniors are able to apply for the program.
Additional program information, application, letter of recommendation form, deadline, etc. may be found here.
